Established in 2023, the George Mason Direct Admissions program simplifies the college application process to provide a clear, accessible pathway to higher education.
Now, George Mason is expanding the program beyond its existing eight school division partnerships, inviting all schools in the commonwealth to provide a guaranteed pathway to college for their students.
Students who carry a 3.25 GPA or higher and meet a few other requirements are offered admission to George Mason in the fall of their senior year, without submitting an application. No fees, essays, or letters of recommendation are needed unless students wish to also apply to the Honors program.

What are the benefits for students?
Students are admitted early via a stress-free, simplified process. The application fee is waived, and no essays or letters of recommendation are needed unless students wish to also apply to the Honors program.* Those admitted via Direct Admissions receive the same consideration for financial aid as other applicants and their admission offer is non-binding.
*Please note that additional application materials are required to be considered for the Honors College, Engineering and Computing, Visual and Performing Arts, and Nursing Schools.
Which students are eligible?
Students must attend a partnering division school, be in good standing, and carry a 3.25 cumulative weighted GPA in courses completed by the end of their junior year. They must also be on track to receive a Standard Diploma or Advanced Studies Diploma as designated by the Virginia Department of Education and meet George Mason’s English proficiency requirements.
