Honors College

Mason’s Honors College provides motivated students an enriched academic and social environment to enhance their college experience. Students have access to unique courses and seminars, which prepare them to become leaders in their careers and communities.

Advantages of the Honors College

Think of the Honors College as a small college within a large research university. All students in the Honors College receive individualized academic advising, priority registration, and opportunities for close interaction with faculty. Students also have the opportunity to live in the Honors College Living Learning Community and have access to Mason’s Office of Fellowships.

The Honors College Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to engage students in answering real questions and solving complex problems. The courses satisfy Mason’s Core requirements in a condensed curriculum, allowing students increased opportunities to pursue minors, research, internships, or other individual interests. Students may also take Honors course options in STEM fields, undergraduate research, and service learning.

Learning Communities

Learning Communities offer Honors College students the chance to live with fellow students in the program. Among the advantages: Students have access to distinguished faculty, and they get a variety of leadership and service opportunities. Extra activities include special lectures, events, and field trips on and off campus, as well as internships and cultural programs in Washington, D.C.
