When Dawn Lowry, the director of George Mason University’s forensics team, recruits prospective students to join the university’s intercollegiate speech team, she reviews videos of high school competitions.  A competitive speech coach for more than 30 years, Lowry remembers being blown away the first time she watched footage of now economics major Prem Ganesan in action.

A 1994 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from the College of Education and Human Development, Horna can be found these days in sunny Cocoa Beach, Florida, teaching surfing lessons. Big Wave Dave, as he is known to patrons and students at Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, credits his current occupation to his experience at George Mason.

Information technology consultant Groundswell provides internship experiences that give George Mason University students a chance to learn about the company, delve into new areas and discover more about the industry.
