Graduation Spring 2023

Now is the time for George Mason University, friends, and family to come together and celebrate all that you have achieved. Attend University Commencement and your college Degree Celebration to commemorate your achievements.

University Commencement

On May 18, 2023, at 10 a.m., President Gregory Washington presided at the University Commencement ceremony in EagleBank Arena, which featured student, faculty, and guest speakers. Guests also enjoyed live music during the event. Doctoral candidates were individually recognized and hooded; bachelor and master graduates were recognized as a group at their seats.

Degree Celebrations

Separate Degree Celebrations will honor school and college graduates, who will be individually recognized and photographed as they cross the stage. The events will also feature guest speakers from similar fields.

Graduates, looking for a new job with your new degree? Don't miss out on the last career fair of the semester! The Just-in-Time Hiring Fair features more than 90 employers who are seeking Mason talent to fill their immediate job openings. The fair will take place May 22 on the lower level of the Johnson Center from 1 pm to 4 pm.

To help you prepare, University Career Services is hosting three prep events where you can improve your resume, practice interviewing, and get job search tips just before the fair.

  • 9 - 10:30 am: 90 Minute Job Search (Hybrid: 1201 Merten Hall/Zoom)
  • 9:30 am - noon: Career Studio (1202 Merten Hall)
  • 10:45 am - 12:15 pm: Interviewing with Confidence (Hybrid: 1201 Merten Hall/Zoom)
